Toronto, the vibrant capital of Ontario, Canada, stands as the nation’s most populous and multicultural city. Toronto is surrounded by the nearby Great Lakes; that’s why it experiences an inland climate. Winters bring snow and chilly temperatures, while summers are warm, sometimes exceeding 90°F. Despite being situated at a latitude close to California’s northern boundary, Toronto’s climate is distinct, occasionally facing hurricanes like the devastating Hurricane Hazel in 1954. Today, Toronto is a dynamic, cosmopolitan metropolis that has far evolved from its quieter, provincial past, offering a lively and diverse urban experience.
